Off-field dramas for Souths

It’s not enough that the South Sydney Rabbitohs are at the bottom of the NRL table with just one win from ten starts, now there is trouble happening behind the scenes.

hello.com.au will try to give readers a basic timeline of events from the last couple of days.

On Sunday it was reported that the club’s owners Russell Crowe and Peter Holmes a Court weren’t on speaking terms and required to be seated at separate sides of the ground for Saturday’s match against Melbourne Storm. All because  Marcus Aurelius  Crowe was unhappy with the media profile of Holmes a Court. Poor Rusty, we all know he feels he doesn’t get enough press already.

Then yesterday, Souths’ coach Jason Taylor was seen swearing at Crowe before it was announced that Holmes a Court had resigned as as non-executive chairman as well as that former Penrith coach John Lang had been brought in to oversee Jason Taylor and the football department.

Now today, George Piggins, who got Souths back into the competition after the Super League war has said the club is finished but wants to buy Souths so that it can be given back to the Leagues Club and play out of John Singleton’s stadium at Gosford.

I just wish everyone could turn their frowns upside down and return to the good old days of last year when the team was winning(sort of), the players were all dressed in Giorgio Armani and Russell was telling his front rowers how much he loved them in a television documentary.
